Nick Klimkiewicz, CPA
Manager
Nick focuses his tax practice on trust, estate, and gift taxation. He helps high-net-worth individuals navigate the complexities of trust and estate taxation. Further, Nick provides families and closely-held businesses with quality service relating to generational tax planning and compliance. He assists individuals in the high-risk area of wealth management taxation to ensure the plan best suits their needs.
Trust and Estate Tax
Nick often prepares estate, gift, generation-skipping, income, and inheritance tax returns. He also assists in the structuring of transfers that achieve optimal use of available credits against an exemption from the gift, estate, and generation-skipping taxes. In addition, Nick handles federal estate tax audits and post-mortem tax planning. Therefore, he can help plan for the disposition of insurance proceeds and retirement plan benefits in a tax-efficient manner.
Regarding wealth management, Nick also assists clients to achieve both charitable and income tax reduction objectives. He can help implement the various kinds of trusts for future generations and the structure of lifetime gift-giving programs to maximize the use of annual and lifetime transfer tax exclusions and minimize transfer tax costs.
Trust the Process
Nick joined the firm in January 2022 as a Senior Accountant in the firm’s Tax Department. During his three years at a “Big 4” accounting firm, he developed a concentration in wealth management, trusts, estates, and foundations. While there, Nick worked directly with banks as the client liaison. He is excited to now have the opportunity at RRBB to build those individual connections with our clients. Nick works with them person-to-person, hoping to create a long-term relationship that provides the right fit for future planning.
Having an enjoyment for tax in general, Nick works well with numbers. Because he always wanted to go into the business field and accounting is the language of business, it all makes sense to him. Nick says accounting comes quickly to him as “everything clicks.” In his free time, Nick is an avid golfer and finds joy in watching his favorite sports teams, including the New York Yankees and New Jersey Devils.
