Joe Caplan Quoted in NJBIZ
Joseph A. Caplan, CPA, MBA, a Partner of RRBB, was happy to participate in an interview for NJBIZ. His quote appears in the article, “A growing company should review its structure, experts advise.”
About the NJBIZ Article
“‘A business that’s considering a change in structure has to review a lot of issues,’ noted RRRB Partner and Tax Department Chair Joe Caplan. ‘In addition to tax considerations, the ‘right’ structure will also depend on the goals of the owners, and their respective liquidity or financing needs.’”
The article addresses recognizing when it is time for a business structure change. For example, it may have initially been logical to form a new business as a sole proprietorship. However, an antiquated corporate structure could result in extra tax and other charges when a successful company expands. Topics discussed include when a business owner should review their company structure, general guidelines around advantages or disadvantages regarding different structures, tax codes to consider, and more.
