Joe Caplan Becomes President of the Monmouth/Ocean County Chapter of the New Jersey Society of CPAs
Joseph A. Caplan, CPA, MBA, a Partner of RRBB, will now serve as President of the New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJCPA) Monmouth/Ocean County Chapter. This comes as a step up from his previous Vice President and Treasurer roles. A member since 2014, Joe is also Chair of the Chapter’s Healthcare Committee.
“My experience with the NJCPA has been extremely beneficial to my career and professional development. The knowledge I have gained and connections I’ve made by being a part of my chapter, especially, has been so valuable. I am grateful to have the opportunity to pass that on to others through this leadership role,” said Joe.
About the Monmouth/Ocean County Chapter of the New Jersey Society of CPAs
The NJCPA represents over 13,000 New Jersey CPAs in public practice, business and industry, government, and education. It offers more than 500 programs each year through networking, leadership, education, and volunteer efforts. In addition to assisting CPAs in fulfilling their continuing education obligations, the NJCPA seeks to help members expand their value to customers, businesses, or groups. It also participates in state politics to represent the interests of the accounting profession. The aim is to promote public trust in CPAs’ neutrality, professionalism, competency, and ethics. Association volunteers create programs and deal with problems to support all members in becoming prosperous professionals.
About Joe Caplan
Joe serves as Chair of the RRBB Tax Department. He focuses on providing tax, advisory, attest, and accounting services to owner-managed businesses in various professional service industries. Generally, these industries include medical and dental practices, law firms, real estate, and small businesses. Joe counsels clients on business and tax strategies to assist them in dealing with short- and long-term challenges, opportunities, and growth.
Passionate about the profession, Joe has made significant contributions to the firm, community, and industry. Thus, NJBIZ listed him in the 2019 “Vanguard Series: Accounting” issue. Joe is also a member of the Young Member Leadership Committee for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Through the AICPA, Joe graduated from the Leadership Academy, being one of 41 CPAs chosen from around the country. He was also selected as one of eleven New York CPAs invited to participate in the 2022 New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) Leadership Institute.
Joe, a resident of Howell, received his Master of Business Administration from Saint Peter’s University in 2010. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting, cum laude, from the College of Staten Island, the City University of New York (CUNY) in 2005.
