Andrew Fingerhut, a Partner at RRBB, is an NJBIZ 2023 “ICON” honoree.

He commented, “I am committed to my associates, partners, clients, neighbors, and those in need. I learned early that a good CPA cares about his clients, and I have carried that same caring into my community. It is my pleasure to help people when they need a helping hand. So, I am very grateful for this recognition from the business community.”

About the NJBIZ ICON Awards

Awards are based on peer nominations, self-nominations, and nominations from others. NJBIZ first verifies that the nominations were made for the appropriate categories and moves the nominees onto a second phase. In that phase, NJBIZ requests additional information from the nominees. This information then goes through review and compilation by an independent panel of judges. The judges are primarily made up of the prior year’s honorees. They review each submission and score each nominee independently based on a set of criteria. The criteria include professional accomplishments, achievements, community involvement, impact, leadership, and vision. The judges do not compare or rank nominees but rather only score them. Lastly, the scores go back to NJBIZ, where they organize and tabulate the scoresheets for the final selection.

A ceremony recognizing the award winners will occur on August 8, 8:00 – 10:00 a.m., at the Doubletree by Hilton Somerset Hotel and Conference Center. Tickets are available on the NJBIZ event page.

About Andy Fingerhut

With forty years of public accounting experience, Andy serves closely-held companies in various industries. He focuses on helping businesses succeed, whether that definition of success includes growth or sale. After working with many clients for multiple generations, Andy sees the human side of the numbers and what it means for the client. He listens and provides outside-the-box solutions for his clients.

Andy works hard to save clients’ money and help them grow. He becomes more than their caring and trustworthy accountant, but a friend. Andy humbly attends clients’ weddings, christenings, and retirements and has the opportunity to watch their families – and businesses – grow.

As former Chair of the RRBB Tax Department, Andy is often in the trenches with the staff accountants. He truly cares about the people here at RRBB. Andy always takes time out of his day, no matter how busy, to say “hi” to everyone on the team, ask how their day is going, talk about the game that was on the night before, and follow up on a previous conversation they’ve had about their baby not sleeping or an ill grandparent.

When Andy isn’t helping others in the office, he’s helping them outside of it. A resident of Hillsborough Township, Andy is an active firefighter at the Woods Road Fire House. He enjoys visits to his local school to teach young children about fire safety. In addition, as an avid bicyclist, he helped start a charity bike ride for the New Jersey Cancer Institute. For 15 years, the 100-mile bike ride has raised over $200,000 annually.

Andy received his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Economics from Rutgers University in 1984. While at school, he was a writer for The Daily Targum. Andy was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and sat on its Alumni Board.
