BIOGRAPHY
Dan Brooks has been a principal with the firm since 1996, prior to that he was a partner with a major Northern New Jersey certified public accounting firm. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Rutgers University, a Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall Law School and a Master of Law from New York University Law School.
His expertise is concentrated in the area of estate planning, trust and estate administration, and charitable giving. He has co-edited the leading text on estate planning in New Jersey and lectures regularly for the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Dan has written an article on International Estate Planning for the special edition of the New Jersey Law Journal. Dan has specialized in real estate transactions. He has dealt with the complex tax requirements of both partnerships and limited liability companies often during his 35 year career.
Dan is a past President of the Estate Planning Council of Northwestern New Jersey and a member of the Tax Section of the Essex County Bar Association. He previously was the President of Board Member Institute, an organization that specializes in educating the board members of tax-exempt organizations. Dan has served as an officer and member of the Board of Directors of Temple B’nai Or, the Jewish Community Center and the United Jewish Appeal . He has served as Chairman of the Democratic Party of Hanover Township and a member of the Hanover Township Finance Committee.
